EDI Assessment Analysis & Reflection Tool v1.0.1

Welcome to the Assessment Data Tool

This tool helps teachers create structured mark-entry sheets for student assessments, and generate skill-level reports from the results.

Workflow
  1. Task Setup (Page 2) — Enter the task name, subject, and year level. Select the skills being assessed and define each question with its marks allocation. Assign skills to questions using the checkbox matrix. Then download your .config file and data-entry spreadsheet.
  2. Collect Data — Fill in the downloaded spreadsheet with student marks. The Excel version includes data validation and auto-calculated totals.
  3. Analysis (Page 3) — Upload the completed spreadsheet (configuration is embedded automatically for .xlsx). Generate three PDF reports: individual student radar charts, class-level spread analysis, and a whole-cohort summary.

About the Files
.config file
JSON file containing your complete task setup — questions, marks, skills, and student field choices. Upload on Page 2 to restore a previous configuration quickly. Keep this file alongside any CSV or ODS data-entry files.
Data Entry File
Pre-formatted spreadsheet for mark entry. Available as:
  • .xlsx — recommended; includes data validation, auto-totals, and embedded configuration (no separate .config needed on Page 3)
  • .ods — for LibreOffice; no validation/formulas
  • .csv — universal; keep the .config file handy
PDF Reports
Three separate PDFs generated on Page 3:
  • Individual — per-student radar chart of skill performance
  • Class — within-class spread and relative strengths
  • Cohort — whole-group skill summaries

Do not edit the Config sheet inside the data-entry spreadsheet directly. To change the assessment setup, use Page 2 and re-download fresh files. The Config sheet is protected to help prevent accidental changes.
Task Information

Optional — printed in report headers and footers.
Assessed Skills

Select all skills assessed in this task. Selected skills appear as checkbox columns in the question table below. At least one skill must be selected before downloading.

Student Identifier Fields

Choose which identifiers to include in the data-entry sheet. Class Code is a per-student column (one value per row).

Question Definitions

Add each question. Question numbers must be unique (e.g. 1, 2a, 2b). Marks must be positive whole numbers (decimals are rounded with a warning). Use the checkboxes to assign each question to one or more assessed skills.

Generate PDF Reports
Individual Student Report

One page per student. Overall mark, percentage, and a radar chart of skill performance (scaled 1–5).

Class Report

One PDF per class (delivered as a .zip): score distribution, Q1/Median/Q3 skill map, level breakdown, student table, and teacher reflection.

Cohort Summary Report

Whole-cohort skill summaries, score distributions, and aggregate performance patterns.

Packages all available reports into one structured .zip: Cohort_Report.pdf , Individual_Reports/ , and (where class codes are present) Class_Reports/
